What kind of events can I find?
The CPBO Events Calendar features training opportunities, community gatherings, conventions, symposia, and other occasions of interest to in-house pro bono volunteers.
What are the basics?
If you do not make any selections to refine your search, your search will return all events occuring in the next week. However, you can limit your search to return only events occuring in a certain location, events containing certain keywords, or events catered to a certain training level.
Date range
By default, the event search will return the next week's events. However, by making a selection from the pull-down menu, you can expand your results to all events occuring in the next 2 weeks, 1 month, 6 months, or one year.
Location
If you are searching for events in the United States, you can refine your search to return only events occuring within 25, 50, 75, or 100 miles of a certain zip code. You do not need to enter a city, select a state, or select a country to run a zip code search. In fact, the zip code search normally returns better results if no city and state are specified.
Users outside of the United States, and American users who do not want to specify by zip code, can specify events occurring in a particular city, state/province, and/or country. If you specify a city name, the search will return only events occuring in that city. It will not return events occuring near that city.
You do not have to specify a geographic area to search for events. If you do not specify a geographic area, the search will return events regardless of their location.
Keywords
Enter a word or phrase into this field to search for event listings that contain these keywords. You may also do an advanced search by using the "AND", "NOT, and "OR" terms, and by using the "*" and "?" wildcards.
example: Lowenstein will find events with the word Lowenstein
example: Lowenstein Hudson will find events that contain either the word Lowenstein, the word Hudson, or both words.
example: Lowenstein AND Hudson will find events that contain both the word Lowenstein or the word Hudson.
example: Lowenstein NOT Hudson will find events that contain the word Lowenstein but do not contain the word Hudson
example: Lowenst??n will find events with the word Lowenstein, but also events with the word Lowensteen and Lowenstien.
example: Lowenst* will find events that contain any word that begins with "Lowenst," like the words Lowenstein or Lowengrad.
Training Level
If you specify a training level, your search will only return events that cater to that training level.
