 Organization Record
Hunton & Williams (New York, NY)
Hunton & Williams Pro Bono Policy Statement: The practice of law is a service to society. Commitment to the highest professional standards when serving business clients is not alone sufficient to nurture a wholesome and worthy institution. We must also recognize as a core value of Hunton & Williams our companion commitment to serve the public welfare. When a citizen's access to justice is thwarted by inability to pay a legal fee, the fabric of our free society suffers. We as lawyers are obliged to use our best efforts to see that the economically disadvantaged receive adequate legal services.

Hunton & Williams expects all of its lawyers to perform substantial pro bono legal services each year. Each lawyer's pro bono efforts are considered during the firm's annual review to determine compensation and advancement.

Hunton and Williams has numerous pro bono involvements in New York City, including the following: Abyssinian Development Corporation, Broadway Cares/Equity Fight AIDS, Community Law Advocates, Community Tax Aid Clinic, Elder Law Clinic, Grand Central Partnership Multiservice Center, Lawyer's Committee for Human Rights, Legal Aid Society, Monday Night Legal Advisory Workshop, People with AIDS Coalition of New York, Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts and the Women in Need Legal Clinic.
