The PBI Annual Conference is the only event that offers in-house pro bono attendees a one-of-a-kind opportunity to learn from each other and take advantage of the considerable resources of PBI and CPBO. Held in Washington, D.C., each spring, the Annual Conference brings together pro bono practitioners from legal departments, law firms, and public interest organizations around pressing issues in pro bono. The in-house track of the Annual Conference is open only to in-house attorneys and is specifically tailored to meet their needs and interests.
During the first day of the Annual Conference, CPBO offers programming that is customized especially for in-house leaders responsible for the oversight, support, direction, and administration of legal departments and their pro bono programs. Participants learn best practices concerning in-house pro bono, gain insight on emerging trends, benchmark success, and obtain access to the latest research on the issues that impact pro bono. CPBO offers programming for in-house counsel at departments that are new to pro bono as well as sessions for departments with longstanding pro bono programs.
Following the in-house track, corporate attendees have the opportunity to meet, network with, and learn alongside their colleagues from law firms and public interest organizations in interactive sessions during day two of the Annual Conference. The Annual Conference offers dozens of sessions, numerous networking opportunities, and culminates in a reception for in-house, law firm, and public interest participants, celebrating the achievements of extraordinary pro bono practitioners.
