New Challenge℠ Signatory: Thomson Reuters

Please welcome the newest Corporate Pro Bono Challenge℠ Signatory: Thomson Reuters.  The legal department of this company has become the latest corporate legal department to sign onto the Corporate Challenge℠, developed by Corporate Pro Bono (CPBO), a joint initiative of the Association of Corporate Counsel and the Pro Bono Institute.

Congratulations to Deirdre Stanley, Executive Vice President and General Counsel for Thomson Reuters, for making this commitment to pro bono a matter of record by signing the Corporate Pro Bono Challenge℠.

The Corporate Pro Bono Challenge℠ is designed to empower corporate legal departments to identify, benchmark, and communicate their commitment to pro bono service. As part of the Challenge, Chief Legal Officers encourage and promote pro bono service by their legal department staff and use their best efforts to encourage at least one-half of their legal staff to support and participate in pro bono service. In addition, Chief Legal Officers encourage outside law firms with whom they work to acknowledge publicly their support for pro bono by becoming signatories to the Pro Bono Institute’s Law Firm Pro Bono Challenge®.  All Corporate Challenge℠ Signatory legal departments receive information, guidance, and tailored support, free of charge, from CPBO to strengthen their existing pro bono programs or to start new ones.

To become a Corporate Challenge℠ Signatory, or to obtain more information about the Corporate Pro Bono Challenge℠, please contact Eve Runyon, Project Director of CPBO, at erunyon@probonoinst.org, or visit www.cpbo.org.
