Role of Law Firms

In addition to planning the Clinic in a Box® Program – Legal Education with the other host organizations (CPBO, a legal department or ACC chapter, and a public interest organization), which includes selecting the topic of each educational program, the host law firm is responsible for the following tasks:

  • assisting the pro bono volunteers with the development of the materials for the pro bono training; and
  • participating in the pro bono training and/or providing advice during the brief advice period, as desired.

Law firms may also secure the location and provide onsite support, if needed.

CPBO or the host legal department or ACC chapter will take the lead in administering the program. CPBO will provide form invitations and other planning materials to make this process run smoothly.
