Role of Legal Departments and ACC Chapters

With the support of CPBO’s materials, all host organizations – CPBO, the legal department or ACC chapter, the law firm, and the public interest organization – are responsible for planning the Clinic in a Box® Program – Legal Education, including selecting the topic of each educational program.

CPBO or the host legal department or ACC chapter will take the lead in administering the program. CPBO will provide form invitations and other planning materials to make this process run smoothly. CPBO will also work with the pro bono volunteers to facilitate the development of the training materials needed to conduct the program.

The host legal department or ACC chapter is responsible for recruiting the in-house volunteers for both the pro bono training and brief advice period. Legal departments or ACC chapters may also secure the program location, if appropriate, and provide onsite support, as needed.
